A Frederick County company is among 11 recipients of nearly $7 million in state funding aimed at growing Maryland’s innovation economy.
Governor Wes Moore announced the awards through the Build Our Future Grant Program, which supports infrastructure development in technology sectors such as biotechnology, artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, and cybersecurity. Frederick County-based Theradaptive Incorporated will receive more than $464,000 to expand local manufacturing of a synthetic bone filler and support commercial-scale production.
The grants are part of the Innovation Economy Infrastructure Act of 2023 and are intended to boost economic mobility across Maryland. Several projects receiving funding are located in communities identified as having high rates of child poverty.
