Franklin County, PA (JK) – A Mount Union, Pennsylvania, man was killed Thursday after his vehicle went over a cliff and landed upside down in Conococheague Creek in Franklin County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the crash happened around 12:41 p.m. on Buchanan Trail West in Antrim Township.
Investigators say 45-year-old Russell Booher’s vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, traveled through a grassy area, went over a cliff, hit a tree, and came to rest on its roof in the creek.
Bystanders pulled Booher and a passenger from the vehicle before emergency crews arrived. Booher was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.
Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
