Frederick Police have charged two people with first-degree murder in the death of 63-year-old Amy Press Burdette.
Burdette was found dead inside an apartment at 807 Stratford Way on July 1. Investigators say April Marie Evans and Dennis Carl Bonenberger were both known to the victim and have determined the homicide was not a random act of violence.
The two suspects are currently incarcerated outside Frederick County on unrelated charges. While arrests have been made, detectives say the investigation remains active. Police believe the homicide occurred during the early morning hours of June 14 and are asking residents of Stratford Way and neighboring buildings to review any doorbell, security, or surveillance video recorded between 3:30 and 5:30 a.m.
Anyone who spotted suspicious people, vehicles, or activity during that time is urged to contact the Frederick Police Department.
