Brunswick is set to benefit from renewed economic development incentives after the state approved a redesignation of the city’s Enterprise Zone.
The designation, which will remain in place for the next decade, shifts the focus to Brunswick’s historic downtown, mixed-use districts, commercial properties, and the Petersville Road corridor. Covering about 1,060 acres, the zone allows eligible businesses to qualify for tax credits tied to new jobs and investments in local properties.
Governor Wes Moore says Enterprise Zones are intended to strengthen local economies by encouraging business growth and job creation. Local officials say the renewed designation will help attract investment and continue Brunswick’s ongoing redevelopment efforts.
