Gaithersburg, MS (JK) – A Frederick man and a Silver Spring man have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts from unlocked vehicles in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County Police.
Detectives say the thefts occurred during the early morning hours of July 14 in neighborhoods along Broad Brook Drive, Enfield Road, Page Avenue and Locust Hill Road. Victims reported stolen electronics, personal belongings and work-related equipment.
Investigators reviewed surveillance video that allegedly showed two suspects checking vehicle door handles before entering unlocked vehicles. Some of the stolen property was later tracked to a Motel 6 on Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg.
Police identified the suspects as 38-year-old Antonio Gordon of Frederick and 30-year-old Craig Pendergrass of Silver Spring. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the motel room where the pair were staying.
Pendergrass was arrested after leaving the motel and was allegedly found carrying stolen property from multiple victims. Gordon was arrested during the search of the motel room, where investigators recovered additional stolen items along with two firearms that had been reported stolen in a separate Montgomery County case.
Both men were charged with theft valued between $1,500 and $25,000, rogue and vagabond, and related offenses. They are being held without bond pending further court proceedings.
