Frederick, MD (JK) – Frederick County’s Division of Aging and Independence will connect residents with free health screenings and community resources at a health fair August 17 in New Market.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at New Market Grange No. 362, 14 South Alley.
Services will include blood pressure and cognitive health screenings, A1C testing for the first 40 participants, and vision and hearing screenings through the Lions Club mobile unit.
Residents can also get help applying for programs including Meals on Wheels, financial assistance and Medicare, along with information on energy assistance, home repairs and services for veterans, families and people with disabilities.
A free lunch and bag of groceries will be available to the first 25 participants.
The county’s “Move Mobile,” a former ambulance equipped with technology for screenings and applications, will also be at the event.
The health fair is free and open to the public.
