Pennsylvania Man Given 30-Year Sentence In Frederick County Circuit Court For Drug Offenses

The State’s Attorney’s Office says Jerome Mario Britton, 46, was given 20 years for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, and another ten years for possession with intent to distribute a fentanyl and heron mix. He had been convicted of those offenses following a jury trial on March 28th, 2025.Prosecutors say on September 4th, 2024, Frederick Police received a tip  from police in Carroll Township, Pennsylvania that Britton was coming to the city after purchasing narcotics in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to sell in Maryland. He was apprehended following a traffic stop. . A police canine indicated a positive alert for drugs. A search of Britton’s person by officers netted 15 baggies of fentanyl mixed with heroin (9.4 grams), and 11 baggies of cocaine (2.3 grams..)The State’s Attorney’s Office says Britton will serve this sentence consecutively with the 13-and-a-half years he received following his conviction on March 20th of this year in a separate jury trial for domestic assault and violating a protective order.”This defendant is the definition of a recidivist. He had been committing crimes for 30 years. These significant sentences, to be served consecutively, are the result of great work by the Frederick Police Department,  and the Domestic Violence and Narcotics Units,” says State’s Attorney Charlie Smith, in a statement.By Kevin McManus
