An 18-year-old has been sentenced to up to 160 years in prison for his role in a violent attack on a Jefferson County woman in May 2024.
Isai Osmar Chinchilla-Guerra was sentenced Tuesday to 37 to 160 years after a jury convicted him in June on all 14 felony counts. The judge imposed consecutive sentences. The charges included attempted first-degree murder, sexual assault, six counts of malicious wounding, burglary and fleeing police in a stolen vehicle.
Prosecutors said Chinchilla-Guerra attacked the woman with a cinder block, sexually assaulted her, stabbed and cut her with a screwdriver and strangled her. She escaped and got help from a neighbor. Chinchilla-Guerra fled in a stolen Toyota RAV4, which later crashed and caught fire. He was 16 when the attack occurred.
