A mandatory life sentence has been handed down for a 42-year-old Martinsburg man convicted of cocaine offenses.
Aaron Curtis Lewis was sentenced Thursday following his April 2026 Berkeley County jury convictions for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and transporting cocaine into West Virginia.
The case began with a controlled buy operation in July 2025. Martinsburg Police officers intercepted Lewis after he brought cocaine into West Virginia from Hagerstown, Maryland. Following the convictions, prosecutors alleged Lewis had sufficient prior qualifying felony convictions to require a life sentence under the state’s habitual offender statute.
