A 66-year-old Mount Airy man has been arrested following a Frederick County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the alleged solicitation and possession of child pornography.
Barry Strong was arrested August 28 after being indicted by a Frederick County Grand Jury on August 21. The indictment includes one count of solicitation of child pornography and 10 counts of possession of child pornography.
The investigation began July 29, when deputies responded to the 11700 block of Old National Pike in New Market after receiving information about suspected online criminal activity. Deputies made contact with Strong, and detectives began an investigation.
On July 31, deputies executed a search warrant at a residence in the 12300 block of Catoctin View Drive in Mount Airy. Numerous electronic devices and storage media were recovered and submitted as evidence.
Strong was transported to the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, where he was served with the arrest warrant.
