Two students were involved in separate weapons incidents Thursday morning at Colonel Zadok Magruder High School in Montgomery County.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Police responded around 8:47 a.m. after reports of students with weapons inside the school. While security investigated a report of a student with a gun, they found another student with a knife. The knife was confiscated, and MCPS will handle disciplinary action.
A separate 15-year-old male was identified as being believed to have a gun. During the investigation, police say he assaulted an MCPS administrator and security officer. A BB gun belonging to the teen was recovered.
The teen faces first- and second-degree assault charges, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property and disruption of a school day. Juvenile Services has authorized his detention.
