A Mount Airy man is facing multiple charges after Carroll County deputies responded to a report of shots fired early Friday morning.
Deputies were called around 3:30 to the 6600 block of Wind Ridge Drive, where several neighbors reported hearing multiple gunshots. Investigators say three people, including the homeowner, were inside when the homeowner got a firearm and two guests fled the residence.
The guests reported that multiple shots were fired in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
Deputies identified the suspect as 59-year-old Kevin Lee Daughton. Crisis Response and Crisis Negotiation teams responded, and Daughton was taken into custody without incident shortly after 7 a.m.
He is charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
