A 30-year-old motorcyclist is dead following a crash Saturday night in Washington County.
The Sheriff’s Office says Bryan John Murphy Senior was operating a Honda C-B-R-600 on Hopewell Road, just north of Halfway Boulevard, when the motorcycle struck a guardrail.
The crash happened at about 10:45 p.m. after Murphy was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed.
He was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he later died.
Deputies closed Hopewell Road during the investigation, with the road reopening at approximately one a.m.
