Montgomery County Police have released a composite sketch of a man sought in connection with a July 4 carjacking, assault and attempted kidnapping in Rockville.
The incident happened around 12:50 a.m. in the 400 block of Croydon Avenue. Investigators say a lone Black male with a muscular build entered an adult woman’s vehicle, assaulted her and attempted to kidnap her.
The woman was able to escape while the vehicle was moving. The suspect then drove away in her vehicle, which was later recovered in the 11400 block of Parkvale Road.
The victim was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the suspect was wearing a dark T-shirt and shorts.
