A Carlisle man has agreed to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter in connection with the March 12 death of an Army reservist at Letterkenny Army Depot. Federal prosecutors have charged 38-year-old Sean Stark in the death of Private First Class Krystofer Lopez. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Stark was conducting firearms training in a grossly negligent manner when Lopez was killed.
Stark has agreed to waive indictment and plead guilty under a federal plea agreement. His guilty plea has not yet been entered in court. A hearing will be scheduled. If convicted, Stark faces up to eight years in federal prison, supervised release and a fine.
The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division investigated the case.
