Leesburg Police have arrested a 60-year-old man following an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material.
Police say the investigation began in February 2026, when the department received a Cyber Tipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children involving suspected online activity associated with a Leesburg resident. Additional information later indicated further incidents involving the same suspect.
On September 24, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 100 block of Marlow Street Southwest and seized evidence for further examination.
Mark A. Leonard of Leesburg was arrested and charged with one count of possession of child pornography. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed following analysis of the evidence.
