MAMDANI DINED AT NYC RESTAURANT LINKED TO ANTI-ISRAEL MENU AFTER BEING BOOED AT OCT 7 VIGIL: REPORT
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani took to X to denounce the shooting, stating that he contacted President Donald Trump over the incident.
Mamdani wrote that agents allegedly surrounded a man and a child who were inside a vehicle before firing. He said the child was believed to be unharmed. Federal authorities have not publicly confirmed those details.
“This is an unconscionable and incredibly serious situation,” Mamdani wrote. “I have called the President; when we speak I will demand that he ends all ICE enforcement actions in our city.”
The mayor also called for ICE to be abolished and demanded that federal immigration agents leave city neighborhoods, hospitals and streets.

The NYPD said its officers were not involved in the shooting and were not at the scene when it occurred.
An NYPD spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is investigating the incident and directed additional questions to federal authorities.
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said Thursday that she had been briefed on the shooting and called on federal authorities to provide a full account of what happened.
“We expect federal authorities to provide a full and transparent accounting of the circumstances surrounding this incident,” Hochul wrote in a post on X. “New Yorkers deserve to know exactly what happened and why.”
Representatives for ICE and DHS did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s requests for comment.
It remains unclear what prompted the shooting, who fired the weapon or whether the injured individual was the subject of a federal law enforcement operation.
