Charles Town Police are reporting two significant drug arrests made within the past week. Investigators say community tips and information have helped lead to several drug-related arrests.
Police say on October 8th, officers approached a vehicle in the parking lot of a closed business and smelled marijuana coming from inside. A search uncovered cocaine and currency. Forty-five-year-old Robert Penaloza of Clarksburg, Maryland, was arrested on charges of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and possession of marijuana.
On October 12th, an equipment violation led officers to stop another vehicle. When the vehicle was searched police found crack cocaine and currency, resulting in one of the largest crack cocaine seizures by Charles Town Police. Fifty-seven-year-old Cedric Galloway of Charles Town was charged with possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and transporting a controlled substance into West Virginia.
