Residents and property owners will have more opportunities to weigh in on a proposed 260-mile electric transmission line that could run through West Virginia, Virginia and Maryland.
Valley Link is holding 12 open houses in November as it gathers public feedback before making final route recommendations for the Valley North Project.
The proposed 765-kilovolt line would connect Putnam County, West Virginia, with Frederick County, Maryland. The project also calls for new substations in Hardy County, West Virginia, and Frederick County, Maryland.
Three of the meetings are scheduled in Virginia and Maryland. They include November 5th from 5 to 8 p.m. at Frederick County Middle School in Winchester; November 12th from 4 to 7 at the Lovettsville Game Protective Association; and November 19th from 4 to 7 at Brunswick Fire Hall.
Property owners within 1,000 feet of proposed routes have been notified. The meetings will cover route options, economic impacts, health and safety, and how Valley Link is evaluating the potential routes.
