INTRO: President Trump continues his marathon stretch on the campaign trail to promote Republican candidates for the midterms, this time making a stop in Dalton, Georgia, on Friday. The President briefly paused his speech to address a protester who was being removed from the audience.
ACK: President Trump
TAG: Despite low approval ratings and criticism over his handling of the economy and the Iran war, the president is throwing his support behind Republican Congressman Mike Collins against incumbent Senator Jon Ossoff (D) … and for governor he supports billionaire healthcare CEO Rick Jackson against Democrat challenger Keisha Lance Bottoms, the former Atlanta mayor who served in the Biden White House. A Real-Clear-Politics polling average shows Senator Ossoff with a strong lead over Congressman Collins, and Jackson with a slight lead over Lance Bottoms.
