A Martinsburg man has admitted to his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation that stretched from Maryland into West Virginia.
The U.S. Department of Justice says 41-year-old Stanley Lum pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine. Lum was one of 13 people arrested by federal agents in July in connection with two operations accused of selling large amounts of cocaine and cocaine base in Berkeley and Jefferson counties.
Investigators say the organization used multiple homes to store and distribute drugs and that members had firearms and large amounts of cash. Searches of homes and storage units turned up tens of thousands of dollars, cocaine and luxury items believed to have been purchased with drug proceeds.
The investigation involved West Virginia State Police, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, the ATF, Ranson Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
