A man is facing charges after investigators say he fired an AR-style rifle near workers on private property.
Deputies responded to Hutcheson Ferry Road October 23rd around 2:30 in the afternoon for a shots-fired call. Investigators say 42-year-old Richard Noah Lawson of Whitesburg stopped near private property, got out of his vehicle and fired multiple rounds into a dirt embankment in the direction of workers. Deputies recovered several rifle-caliber shell casings.
Surveillance video also showed Lawson and his vehicle at the location in both August and October. Investigators, with help from neighboring agencies and tips from the public, identified Lawson. He admitted firing the rounds and surrendered the rifle.
Lawson was charged October 28th with reckless conduct and discharging a firearm on or near a public highway or street. He turned himself in to the Carroll County Jail.
