TAG: The Alaska Supreme Court previously ruled against an effort to remove Dan J. Sullivan from the ballot, finding that election officials could take reasonable steps to distinguish the candidates. The New York Times reported that Peltola’s campaign helped recruit Dan J. Sullivan as a spoiler candidate because his name is similar to Republican incumbent Dan S. Sullivan. Peltola, however, denies any involvement, and calls the story a distraction.
