TAG: The New York Times previously reporting the campaign for Democratic Senate candidate Mary Peltola (D) helped recruit an independent candidate with the same name as Republican Senator Dan Sullivan (R-AK) to try and confuse voters. The Times noted that these tactics are relatively common in politics and that there was no evidence of a crime. Peltola’s campaign has denied being involved with getting Dan J. Sullivan on the ballot. A federal judge has blocked a lawsuit by the D-O-J attempting to delay certification of the election in the event that Peltola wins.
