Frederick County residents will have an opportunity to receive a free Thanksgiving turkey and holiday side dishes during the City of Frederick’s annual Harvest of Hope event on Wednesday, November 18th.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until supplies run out, at Nymeo Field. Approximately 1,200 turkeys will be available, thanks to support from Wegmans.
The event is organized by the City of Frederick’s Department of Housing and Human Services in partnership with the Spanish Speaking Community of Maryland. A resource fair will also give residents an opportunity to connect with local organizations and learn about available community services and programs.
To receive a turkey and side dishes, participants must be Frederick County residents, attend in person and provide proof of residency, such as a valid driver’s license or other identification. Distribution is limited to one turkey and a selection of side dishes per household.
All items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Accessible parking will be available for those needing accommodations.
