MEET MINDY – 6/23/26
Mindy is a sweet, gentle 3-year-old Black Mouth Cur mix who is looking for a patient family to help her build confidence and finally find the forever home she deserves. 🐶❤️
This is Mindy’s second stay at Frederick County Animal Control, and we’d love to see her find the perfect fit this time around. While she can be a little shy and unsure in new situations, Mindy has a loving personality and truly enjoys attention once she feels comfortable.
Mindy would thrive in a quieter home where she can settle in at her own pace. She would do especially well with another dog in the home, as having a canine companion helps her feel more secure and confident. 🥰
Because she’s still learning to trust and gain confidence, Mindy would do best in a home without small children. With patience, love, and understanding, she has all the makings of a wonderful lifelong companion.

MEET BRACHS – 6/16/26
Brachs is a lovable 9-year-old dog with a heart as big as his personality. 🐶❤️ If there’s one thing Brachs loves, it’s being close to people and soaking up as much affection as possible.
As you can see in the video, this sweet guy is incredibly affectionate and never turns down pets, cuddles, or quality time with his favorite humans. 🥰
Brachs is also looking for a family that can help him continue his weight loss journey. With some encouragement, regular activity, and lots of love, he’ll be well on his way to living his healthiest and happiest life.
Despite being a senior, Brachs still has plenty of love to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, gentle friend. ❤️

MEET CHARMER – 6/9/26
Charmer is a sweet, friendly 1-year-old Terrier mix who loves people and is always ready to make a new friend. 🐶❤️ Her affectionate personality and happy spirit are exactly how she earned her name.
She recently arrived at Frederick County Animal Control after her previous owners could no longer afford her care. While that change wasn’t her choice, Charmer hasn’t let it dim her loving attitude or her desire to be around people.
Charmer has plenty of love to give and would thrive in a home where she can be part of the family and enjoy the attention she craves. With her friendly nature and young age, she has all the makings of a wonderful companion. 🥰

MEET ZANE – 6/2/26
Zane is a sweet but shy 2-year-old cat who is looking for someone willing to take things at his pace. 🐱❤️ He came to Frederick County Animal Control as a stray and can be a little reserved when meeting new people.
While he may not be the first one to seek attention, Zane has a loving side that’s worth the wait. Once he feels comfortable and learns to trust you, all he wants is pets, snuggles and companionship. 🥰
Because he’s a timid guy, Zane does best when introductions are slow and gentle. Giving him the time and space he needs to adjust will help his affectionate personality shine through.
He may be quiet at first, but beneath that shy exterior is a very sweet cat who would love a home where he can feel safe, loved and secure. ❤️
