Dave Serio is a trusted voice in automotive expertise with more than 30 years of hands-on experience across nearly every corner of the industry. His career began in auto sales, where he quickly advanced to sales manager, before expanding into dealer service department management, finance and insurance, and service advising. From 1991 to 2002, Dave owned and operated My Mechanic, an independent auto service facility in Randallstown. Today, he continues serving drivers as the owner of Vehicle Service Plus in Bel Air.

Dave’s experience isn’t limited to the shop—he’s also a seasoned broadcaster. He began his radio career in 1979 in Florida at WRKT AM/FM, gaining afternoon drive experience before returning to Baltimore for an on-air role at WITH-FM. In addition to radio, Dave was president of a successful mobile disc jockey business until 1996.

Since then, Dave has become a familiar and trusted presence on the airwaves as the host of You Auto Know, helping listeners better understand vehicle maintenance, repairs, and smart automotive decisions. The show has aired each Saturday on AM 680 WCBM, Q1370 Baltimore, and AM 930 WFMD Frederick. Many viewers also recognize Dave from his regular You Auto Know segment on WJZ Channel 13, where he offered practical automotive advice every Friday.

When he’s not on the air or in the shop, Dave is most proud of being the father of three daughters—Angela, Nicole, and Samantha. His mission remains the same today as it has throughout his career: to educate, empower, and help drivers keep their vehicles safe, reliable, and on the road.
