Frederick Man Arrested For Drug Offense

Police also confiscated a small amount of crack.

Officers with the Frederick Police Department’s Street Crime Team have charged a local man with drug offenses. Joseph Michael Rogers, 28, was arrested Wednesday night near the Intersection of Orchard Terrace and South McCain Drive. He’s charged with one count of possession of crack cocaine.

Police say Rogers’ vehicle was stopped for violations in the nearby Denny’s parking lot. They say Rogers was believed to have been involved in drug activity.

A police canine was called to the scene and did a sniff of the vehicle. The dog alerted officers to the presence of drugs.

Rogers tried to discard a small amount of crack cocaine as he was being arrested, according to police.
