Mt. Airy Man Charged With Shooting At ‘Repo Man’

He only hit the man’s vehicle.

A Mount Airy man is charged with 1st-degree assault, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property. Ross Hunter Snell, 47, was arrested early Friday morning for allegedly firing a shotgun at another man who was repossessing a car.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the 6600 block of Runkles Road on Friday at 12:33 AM to investigate reports of a shooting. They met the victim who works for State Wide Recovery, a company that conducts repossessions of property. He told authorities he was sent to the area to repossess a vehicle. As he was looking for that vehicle, a man came out of his home and threatened him with a shotgun. The victim drove away and heard a single gunshot.

Deputies say his vehicle showed damage consistent with the pellets from a shotgun.

Authorities are asking anyone who has information on this incident to contact the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 410-386-5900.
