Fire officials says it’s due to the warm weather and low humidity.
The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office has put an outdoor burning ban in effect immediately until further notice.
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources says the forest fire danger in the state is at Class Four, which is “very high.” Officials say a combination of warm temperatures, low relative humidity and low fuel moisture levels have increased the chances for wildfires.
This prohibition in Frederick County also includes recreational fires, according to the Fire Marshal’s Office.
