Five Arrested Following A Fight, Domestic Incident

One person was cut with sharp object.


A total of five people were arrested following a domestic incident and a fight on Wednesday in the 1200 block of Stillmeadow Place.

Frederick Police says Ednelson Castillo-Diaz, 26, assaulted a women he lived with. In response, four other people who were known to the victim began assaulting Castillo-Diaz. One of the suspects used either a knife or a broken bottle to hit Castillo-Diaz in the face, police say. He suffered a laceration to his face which was consistent with either being struck or cut.

Castillo-Diaz and four others are charged with assault. They’re identified as Jose Alfredo Pena Vasquez, 36, Lisa Renee Sweitzer, 49, Anabil Mendez, 21, and Fidel Enrique Flores-Pena, 17.

All five list 1200 block of Stillmeadow Place in Frederick as their residence, according to a Frederick Police news release.

Police say Pena-Vasquez, Sweiter and Castillo-Diaz, are each charged with one count of 2nd-degree assault. Mendez, Flores-Pena are charged with one count each of 1st-degree assault, conspiracy to commit 1st-degree assault, 2nd-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Police say Flores-Pena is juvenile whose charged as an adult. They also say he’s an active member of the 18th Street gang.
