HAGERSTOWN, Md.(DG)-Maryland State Police in Hagerstown are investigating a serious accident involving a pedestrian.
Police responded to an accident on interstate 70 eastbound at Route 40 around 1:30 AM. Investigators say James Hill was driving his Chevy Colorado on eastbound I-70 in the right lane when he tried to pull into the left lane of traffic.
Hill pulled his vehicle into the path of a Ford F-350 truck in the left lane at the beginning of a work zone. Both vehicles collided and the Chevy went into the median, overturning several times, striking a pedestrian who was installing a guardrail.
The pedestrian was taken to Meritus Medical Center for serious injuries and then flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
