SHA To Conduct Inspections Of I-81 Bridges Over Potomac River

They will take place Sun. through Thurs, 9PM to 5AM each day.

The State Highway Administration says it will conduct inspections of the Interstate 81 bridges over the Potomac River, which take traffic between Maryland and West Virginia. The inspections will take place from Sunday through Friday at both the northbound and southbound spans from 9:00 PM until 5:00 AM, weather permitting.

During the inspections, SHA says it will close a single lane on each bridge every  night.

Motorists are encouraged to use Route 11 between West Virginia and Williamsport, Maryland.

About 61-thousand vehicles use those bridges each day; of that, 16,500 are trucks.
