Frederick Woman Arrested After She Was Caught With A Loaded Handgun At BWI

It was part of her carry-on items.


Charges have been filed against a Frederick woman who was arrested Saturday at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for having a handgun among her carry-on items. Maryland Transportation Authority Police say Lisa J. Pazio, 52, is charged with two weapons offenses after her gun was detected as she was passing through a security checkpoint.

The Maryland Court Cases website says the charges against Pazio are having a handgun on her person, and interference with security at the airport.

The Transportation Security Administration says Pazio had a nine-millimeter handgun with seven bullets. The weapon was confiscated by Maryland Transportation Authority Police.

TSA says this incident had no affect on airport operations.

The TSA says firearms, firearm parts and ammunition are not permitted in carry-on bags, but are allowed in checked bags if they’re unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline.

Violators are subject to criminal charges and civil penalties from the TSA up to $11,000. no impact to airport operations.
