He was sentenced on Friday
A Hagerstown man was sentenced Friday in federal court to five years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release. Eric Christoper Smallwood, 40, also known as “Big Baby” and “E,” pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute cocaine in the Hagerstown area.
The U-S Attorney’s Office for Maryland says Smallwood regularly received bulk quantities of cocaine from Abdul Smith, and re-sold it to customers. He provided the proceeds from these sales to Smith to pay for prior supplies of cocaine. Federal agents were able to secure a wiretap on Smith and Smallwood, and intercepted numerous calls between the two, who were discussing the distribution of cocaine.
Federal officials say Smallwood obtained at least 400 grams of the drug from Smith.
Co-defendants Abdul Jamel Smith, 40; Rory Slade Jenkins, also known as “Malik,” 56; Altonia Sylvester Henderson, 40; and Johnathan Woodley, also known as “Ming,” 39; have all pleaded guilty to taking part in the drug conspiracy and were sentenced to between five years and 51 months in prison.
