Crews will replace an underground pipe.
The State Highway Administration will close the Route 180 (Ballenger Creek Pike) ramp to northbound Routes 15 and 340 from Saturday, May 7th at 9:00 PM until Sunday, May 8th at 8:00 AM. The agency says it will allow crews to replace the underground pipe across the ramp.
Also, the left turn lane from northbound Route 180 between Ballenger Center Drive and Solarex Court will be closed. That will prohibit left turns on the ramp to Route 15 and 340 while construction is underway.
Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes to get around.
It’s all part of improvements to Route 180 at Solarex Court which began last March. The nearly $37-million project will increase the number of lanes from one to two in both directions for a nearly one-mile section of Ballenger Creek Pike. Additional lanes will also be constructed at the intersection, according to SHA.
