Mussetter Road Closure Being Extended

The Rainy weather has delayed a road construction project

The Frederick County Office of Transportation Engineering says the closure of Mussetter Road at the railroad tracks near Ijamsville Road will continue a bit longer.

It started on April 18th to allow construction at the site, and was expected to last two to three weeks. But due to the recent rainy weather, that closure has been extended for one more week.

The contractor, Kinsley Construction, will be paving, placing pavement markings and sealing a new bridge, all of which are weather sensitive.
A detour has been set up. Motorists will use Old National Pike, Route 144, to Ijamsville Road.

Immediately after Mussetter Road reopens, Transportation Engineering officials say traffic will be shifted back to Mussetter Road. Then Ijamsville Road will be closed between Mussetter Road and to Reichs Ford Road for four to five week, weather permitting.

Department staff say they’ve notified the school system and emergency agencies.
