She was arrested on Tues. following a vehicle crash.
A Walkersville woman was arrested in Frederick on Tuesday afternoon following a vehicle crash. Carol A. Wright, 46, is charged with five counts of second-degree assault and a number of traffic offenses, including driving while intoxicated, driving under the influence, hit and run and reckless driving.
Frederick Police say officers were dispatched to Route 26 at Routzahns Way at around 12:45 PM for a property damage accident. Authorities learned from eyewitnesses, who recorded the crash on their cell phones, that Wright continuously rammed her vehicle into another vehicle, trying to push it into the busy intersection.
She fled before officers arrived.
Police were able to locate Wright and her vehicle after canvassing the area. Officers say they suspected she was under the influence of alcohol and a sobriety test was administered, which Wright failed.
As she was being placed under arrest, police say Wright kicked and punched two officers, and continued to yell profanities at them.
Wright was taken to the Adult Detention Center.
The officers were not hurt.
