Their cases now move quickly to the Circuit Court for trial.
The Frederick County Grand Jury on Friday handed down six indictments.
One was Nicholas Wayne Keyian, 25, of Frederick. State’s Attorney Charlie Smith says Keyian was arrested for the armed robbery of the Wal Mart on Guilford Drive on April 4th. “He entered that store at about 10 o’clock in the evening, and robbed an employee at gunpoint. The Sheriff’s Office later determined that it was a BB gun used by Mr. Keyian,” he says
In addition, Keyian was also indicted for another robbery earlier in the day. “That happened at the C. Burr Artz Public Library. They took a look at some surveillance footage over there and they realized that that same man was in there earlier in the day and robbed someone in the bathroom,” says Smith.
Keyian is charged in one indictment with armed robbery, robbery, 2nd-degree assault, theft between $1,000 and $10,000, and theft less than $1,000. In the second indictment, Keyian is charged with armed robbery, robbery, 2nd-degree assault and theft less than $1,000.
Also indicted was Larry Roger Hall, Jr., 47, of Walkersville, whose charged with 2nd-degree child abuse and 2nd-degree assault. “I don’t want to comment too much on those offenses. We really hate to identify the person that’s at the hands of that abuser, especially when they’re children,” says Smith. “But it’s a very serious offense and, of course, we’ll take it seriously when we prosecute.”
The offenses that Hall is charged with occurred on April 18th, 2016.
Others indicted include:
* Maximo A. Ortiz, 25, of Germantown, whose charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace.
* Teresa Marie Hagan, 35, of Frederick, Md. In one indictment, she’s charged with 3rd-degree sex offense. The other indictment charges Hagan with sex abuse of a minor. “Those are two separate victims. Both occurring in the summer of 2015,” says Smith. “She faces two very, very serious offenses with two separate victims.”
These indictments quickly move all of these cases to Circuit Court for trial.
