He also had more than $8400 in cash, police say.

State Police in Frederick have charged a Hagerstown man with drug offenses. Jarrod O. McFadden, 23, was taken into custody Monday night following a traffic stop along westbound Interstate 70 near Linganore Road.

Authorities say at around 9:52 PM,  Trooper 1st Class C. Whorton pulled over McFadden–who was driving a 2010 black Ford Mustang–for a speed violation.

As he was making his way to the car, Tfc. Whorton says he detected an odor of raw marijuana inside McFadden’s vehicle.
With the assistance of other Frederick troopers, Whorton conducted a probably cause search of the vehicle. They found 50.5 grams of pot, two boxes of clear baggies, drug paraphernalia and $8,462 in cash hidden in the vehicle.

McFadden was taken to the Adult Detention Center where he’s being held on $15,000 bond. He’s charged with possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The drugs, paraphernalia and currency were confiscated, State Police say.
