Frederick Couple Charged With Harboring A Fugitive

The individual was wanted by authorities in Tennessee.


A Monrovia couple is charged with harboring a fugitive and obstruction of justice.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says it received word on Wednesday that Freddy Reyes, 20, of Frederick,  was staying at a home on Saundra Lee Court with Daryl and Dana Banks, both 44. . Deputies say Tennessee authorities have arrest warrants for Reyes, whose charged with drug offenses, and failure to appear in court on a warrant for resisting arrest.

Authorities went to the Banks’ residence and saw Reyes in the backyard. The Sheriff’s Office says deputies approached the residents. They asked both of the occupants about Reyes’ whereabouts. One said he was in Tennessee, and the other said he was in Hagerstown. The couple refused to cooperate, according to a Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies obtained a search warrant, And when they returned, they saw Reyes leaving through the front door, and took him into custody without incident.

Reyes, and Daryl and Dana Banks were taken to the Adult Detention Center for processing.
