Four people are arrested.
Frederick County Sheriff’s Deputies seized weapons and drugs following a traffic stop early Wednesday morning.
Authorities say a vehicle was pulled over along Interstate 70 at Exit 56 at around 2:00 AM for an inoperable tag light. During the course of their investigation, deputies say neither of the four occupants possessed a valid driver’s license.
A police canine brought to the scene gave an alert, and a search of the vehicle netted two handguns and 28 grams of cocaine.
The occupants of the vehicle were arrested. They’re identified as Jobe McDowney, 20, of Washington DC, whose charged with the use of a firearm in drug trafficking, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, drug possession and driving a vehicle without a license; Desimon Richardson, 18, of Washington D-C, whose charged with use of a firearm in drug trafficking, illegal possession of a regulated firearm, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of drugs with intent to distribute, possession of drugs and other firearm-related offenses; Marcah Cheeves, 19, of Cumberland, whose charged with having a handgun on his person and other firearms-related offenses; and Jessica Schultz, 21, whose charged with having a handgun on her person and other firearms-related offenses.
All four were taken to the Adult Detention Center for processing.
The contraband was seized and placed on property with the Sheriff’s Office.
