Sheriff’s Office Looking For Hit & Run Driver

That person’s pickup damaged another vehicle near Mt. Airy.

The public’s assistance is needed by the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in locating a vehicle involved in a hit and run crash on Penn Shop Road at Manor Drive Wednesday afternoon.
Deputies say at around 2:10 PM, a white pickup truck with tinted windows and a lifted suspension was traveling along Penn Shop Road when the operator turned on to Manor Drive and struck a Chevrolet Heritage High Roof. The driver fled from the scene by backing south on Penn Shop Road for one-eighth of a mile, and then continued south. The driver did not return to the scene of the crash.

The truck is possibly a newer model Ford and should have damage on the passenger side with some of the maroon paint from the Chevrolet.

Anyone who has information on the striking vehicle and/or the driver is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office. They can call Cpl. B. Ruppentahl at 301-600-3897. They can also remain anonymous and call the Sheriff’s Office Tip Hotline at 301-600-4141.
