Two Injured In Vehicle Crash Tues. Evening

Both were taken to area hospitals.


Two people were transported to area hospitals Tuesday evening following a head-on collision in Urbana.

The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office says Troy Swift, 18, of Monrovia was flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore after the Hyundai Accent he was driving crossed the center line in the 3700 block of Urbana Pike, and hit a Hyundai Santa Fe, which was traveling in the opposite direction. Authorities describe Swift’s injuries as “critical.”

The operator of the Santa Fe is identified as Gabriella Leonti-Gayle of Frederick. She was taken to Suburban Hospital with serious injuries..

Deputies say that speed, failure to obey a traffic control device and possible impairment are believed to be factors in this crash.
