Investigators say the cause was accidental.
Fire damaged a garage in Washington County Saturday afternoon.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says 17 fire fighters from Smithsburg responded at around 12:45 PM to 20,610 Emerald Drive, and spent ten-minutes bringing the flames under control. No one was hurt.
Damage is estimated at $1500, and was limited to the gutter and plywood attic area.
Investigators say the fire was accidental, caused by the spontaneous combustion of grass clippings.
