Family Fundraiser Funomenon Event Raising Money for Those in Need in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (KR) A non-profit organization that began in 1992 to help a close friend make her mortgage payment because she was too sick to work has become a successful program reaching out to help others in the same situation in our community.

Debbie Williams remembers that friend, Patty Pollatos, and how they were able to raised 20-thousand dollars in 30 days to honor Patty’s wishes so she could die with dignity.

Each year, the Patty Pollatos Fund celebrates their fundraising by holding their annual Family Fundraiser Funomenon at the Frederick Fairgrounds.

Debbie said this year they have an exciting concert line up.

“We have a local band, Brian Linthicum and the boys and me and then we have Martina McBride, now all that’s happening at the Grand Stands,” said Williams.

The day will be full of events including music, a kids land with moon bounces, food, and more, said Williams.

“At twelve o’clock my family, the J BAR W Ranch, packs it up and brings the rodeo right there with the mutton bustin’ and everything for the kids and then we have our Wounded Warriors, we honor them, we honor all our vets for a ceremony and Governor Hogan, unless it’s a state of emergency in Maryland, he’s going to be there to celebrate our vets,” said Williams.

The event will be on August 27th. Tickets are on sale now at PPFINC.org and includes food and drinks plus all of the activities. Kids 5 years and younger are free.

You can also purchase tickets locally at Mt. Airy Hair Impressions Salon, Grimes Truck Center on East Patrick street, LaPaz Restaurant in Downtown Frederick, and James Gang Pizza in Middletown.
