Jefferson County Fireworks Show

JEFFERSON, Wv. (KR) Don’t miss a free fireworks show to celebrate the start of your Independence Day weekend.

The Jefferson County Parks and Recreation are hosting an event on Saturday, July 2nd at Sam Michael’s Park in Jefferson.

Jennifer Myers, Director of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation says you can expect a lot of fun, activities for the kids and the big fireworks that everyone loves to see.

“We’ve really been working hard to raise the $25,000 needed to pull the event off this year and then just working with local entertainers to come out and provide some music for the people in attendance the evening of,” said Myers.

She said to bring your blankets and chairs to the event, but there are a few things you should leave at home.

“So everything is free. The event is free to the public, parking is free to the public as well. So all of the parking is here at Sam Michael’s Park. We have a huge field for plenty of space. The only thing we say is no pets, no glass bottles and no alcohol,” said Myers.

The gates will open at 5:00 p.m. and fireworks will go off at dusk (approximately 9:15 p.m.)
