Your wait at the Airport might be getting shorter

American Airlines passengers could start spending less time in security lines. The airline and the Transportation Security Administration have partnered to bring a state-of-the-art baggage screening system to four hub airports.

The new automated screening lanes will direct bags with potential threats to a different area, leaving bags behind them uninterrupted. The system is expected to cut wait times by 30-percent. The TSA will be setting up the new screening lanes this fall at LAX, Chicago O’ Hare, Dallas Fort Worth and Miami International Airports.

The airline also announced it will start testing CT scanning at Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport. CT scanning will allow things like liquids and laptops to stay inside carry-on bags through security checkpoints. The process will be tested this fall and if all goes well, the TSA will be setting them up nationwide.
