There was no violence.
A large crowd came out Friday night in downtown Frederick to protest police brutality and to proclaim “Black Lives Matter.”
About 150 people gathered at the intersection of Market and Patrick Streets, and then moved to the Carroll Creek promenade, meeting near the suspension bridge.
Speakers told the audience to channel their anger following two fatal police shootings into something constructive and not commit violence.
The crowd which was racially mixed was protesting this week’s police shootings in Minnesota and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The victims were African-American men.
