Frederick Man Charged With Assault, Malicious Burning

He was arrested for destroying some of his victim’s property.


Frederick, Md (KM)  Charges of 1st- and 2nd-degree assault, malicious burning, malicious destruction of property and reckless endangerment have been filed against a Frederick man. Stuart Addison Delchamps, 20, was arrested on Wednesday.

Frederick Police say they were called to the area of West 5th and North Bentz Streets for an assault in progress. They were told Delchamps was chasing after the victim with a knife.

When officers arrived, they say Delchamps was attempting to walk away, but he was detained.

Earlier, authorities say Delchamps attempted to pursue the victim to a nearby building, but couldn’t get inside. Delchamps then went back to the victim’s home, and destroyed several items, including a television set and windows. Authorities also say Delchamps also punctured the tires on her car, and attempted to burn the house down.

Delchamps was taken to the Adult Detention Center for processing.

Police say the victim was not hurt during this altercation.
